WITHOUT THE MUSIC

I can’t live without music. So this brief was perfect for me. After listening to millions of songs, I realized that if you take the melody out of some of them, the lyrics are just plain weird. I developed the concept and wrote the radio spots for this Grammy in the Schools campaign.

Agency: Grey NY
Client: Grammy In The Schools
Creative Director: Katie Slovin, Ronney Chong
Copywriter: Antonio Fragoso

“CREEPY” :30

(A raspy voice whispers)

Man:
Every breath you take,
Every move you make,
Every bond you break,
Every step you take,
I’ll be watching you…

SFX: “Every Breath You Take” by The Police kicks in.

AVO:
Without the music, it’s just creepy.
Support the future of music, support Grammy In The Schools.

“Sunday in the South” :30

(A southern man preaches to his congregation)

Preacher:
Don’t stop believing,
Hold on to that feeling,
People don’t stop believing!

SFX: Don’t Stop Believin´” by Journey kicks in.

AVO:
Without the music, it’s just another Sunday in the South.
Support the future of music, support Grammy In The Schools.
